When the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City decided to expand its image guided radiation therapy facilities, the available space was sandwiched tightly between the school’s football stadium and two heavily traveled streets. The close proximity of the project to the existing hospital demanded a minimal amount of disturbance.
The depth of the project required installation of tieback anchors with proof test loads ranging from 15 tons to 35 tons. Manta Ray earth anchors were picked as suitable for the project. Manta Ray anchors are impact driven, tipping-plate-style anchors manufactured by Foresight Products.
